Coaching: Turn down the hype

The Audience

ValorUp coaching services are built for rising stars and executives who are involved in, have influence over, or are being groomed to make leadership decisions. That means we cater to:

  1. Leaders who are directly tied to innovation
  2. Business unit leaders who have not traditionally identified with innovation efforts

We do this because innovation and DEI are integral to leadership and should be interwoven into the very DNA of an organization.  Gone are the days of siloed departments and add-on initiatives. Innovation is done best in environments that engages multiple perspectives and requires the support of other business functions. Giving all executives an opportunity to explore these topics strengthens the continuity and communication within the organization as a whole.

The Benefits

For innovation groups, including product, technology, and venture capital (VC), we are peers who help ask the right questions and strategize with you to build & scale effective initiatives for your organization’s particular phase of development. Think of us as a sounding board to support you in rethinking the way your organization functions while finding opportunities to improve and grow, including digital transformation, moonshots, and the in-between.

Business line leaders benefit with guidance on how innovation can support meaningful growth within their area. That can mean higher productivity, more engaged employees, lower costs, and higher revenues. As both types of leaders progress, the effect expands out to touch portfolio companies, partners, and clients in ways marketing campaigns can’t mimic.

The Process

We start off with an assessment to better understand context. Then we dive into the identity of the organization and the leader themselves. Introspection is key for leaders to craft or update their “why” and modus operandi for themselves and those they lead. This is what we call “filtering the noise” because it translates into a guide post towards developing direction and a plan for execution. As peers we’ve been where you’re at and know you don’t need someone to tell you what to do, but a way to sort through the chaos to find the right path.

Training: PUMP UP THE VOLUME

The Audience

We recommend a train the trainer model. Find the champions and influencers within your organization who can act as ambassadors to their areas of the organization. They will become your network to convey information out to the workforce and engage more employees.

The Benefits

Being part of an innovation network is empowering. The shared purpose and responsibility to participate encourages people to rise to the challenge of creating lasting change. As an ambassador they’ll be point for spreading the message and building momentum within their own groups. This means others will look to them for knowledge and advice. Through custom training you can prepare your network with the appropriate skill set at the right time in order for them to execute with confidence.

Training can be combined with the coaching process to bring ambassadors up to speed seamlessly, allowing the organization to execute at a rapid pace.

The Process

We work with you to understand exactly what programming would make sense for the organization’s level of understanding, social norms, and learning preferences. We prefer not to lecture but to facilitate workshops, open discussions and hands on activities to reinforce learning and ensure participants are fully present. Duration can vary depending on the depth and skill sets to be acquired. At times we may recommend an offsite as the change of scenery shakes people out of their “work” mindset and allows them to participate more fully.

Speaking: Spark a movement

The Audience

We have spoken at intimate gatherings and on stage with crowds of over a thousand. Engagements have varied by subject matter, industry, and location. Regardless, we bring the same care and enthusiasm to each one.

The Benefits

A speaking engagement is the perfect way to create awareness and quickly engage a large audience. Often an outside voice is needed to reinforce principles and learnings. With the energy of a live event it’s easier to provoke mindset shift, build momentum, and spark action. Entire communities can be built in one day.
