WHO WE ARE

At ValorUp we are entrepreneurs, founders, and product people who understand the needs of mature companies and startups. We know how to craft impactful experiences, facilitate learning and guide inclusive innovation within organizations. Our goal isn’t to tell you what to do but to empower you with the skills and support to build upon your vision, even if you don’t know what that is yet.

ORIGIN STORY

Over the course of her career our Founder & CEO, Rachelle Oribio, has built and run 14 programs around the startup journey and corporate innovation. While at organizations including Techstars and Technoserve she partnered with Google’s Area 120 and Mayo Clinic among others. With each program her thought process evolved until ValorUp was born.

We envision a world where people collaborate for mutual benefit and strive for the advancement of humankind. The mission is to influence how large organizations think about innovation to drive greater results for them, their customers and the startup community at large. To do this we develop brave & empathetic leaders who co-create new business alongside their employees.

Yes, there are other considerations and outside pressures, and people are first and foremost our primary concern. People make up our organization. People are our customers. People are our stakeholders. If you’re not doing what’s right by them, you’re not doing what’s right at all.

You can’t do right by people if you’re not doing your best. We expect you to show up every day proud of your work and the work of this team and company. Nobody and nothing is perfect, but we can still strive to excel. So bring it.

SET EXPECTATIONS

You can only achieve awesome by setting benchmarks, milestones, timelines and criteria for what that means. This has to be done as a conversation with everyone else involved. Stakeholders deserve to be updated accordingly as plans change, and they always do. Under promise & over deliver.

IDEAS OVER HIERARCHY

Good ideas come from everywhere and everyone. Every human being is worthy of love and respect and has a rationale behind their perspective. Despite our philosophical stances we will coexist far beyond a single discussion. Listen to the idea and debate the idea, not the person.

Much of what we’re asking you to do in these values is scary because it requires vulnerability. That’s why the name of this company is ValorUp. It takes courage to create value, monetary or otherwise. Value requires risk, and when we risk we will sometimes fail. Courage breeds the resilience to get back up and try again, amplified by the love & support of your peers.
